We Start Basic Training!

What is a Golden Doodle exactly?

The Golden Doodle is a cross between the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. It was first bred in the late 1960s by Monica Dicken, daughter of Charles Dickens. The Golden Doodle’s working purpose was to create guide dogs for people with allergies. It wasn’t until the 1990s that the Golden Doodle became one of the most well-known designer breeds in the U.S., living up to 12 – 15 years! The popularity of the doodle has to do with having a gentle companion with little to non-shedding coats.

Although the low shed comes from the Poodle side, the idea was to combine the gentle nature of Golden Retrievers with the intelligence of Poodles, while avoiding the tendency of Golden Retrievers to shed excessively.

Early Training for Well-Behaved Puppies!

At CocoLove Doodles, we believe that a well-socialized and well-mannered puppy starts with early training. Beginning at just 5 weeks old, we introduce our puppies to basic training, including potty training, crate exposure, leash exposure, and simple commands like sit, come, wait, no, and down. We also focus on early socialization, helping them get accustomed to different sights, sounds, and gentle handling. This foundation helps ensure a smoother transition to their forever homes and sets them up for success as loving, obedient companions.

Please Note: Once the puppy is in their new environment, training MUST continue at home in order for the behaviors to become more established.
