A Guide for our Families
March, 2026
Choosing your puppy is one of the most exciting parts of the journey, and we want the process to feel organized, thoughtful, and special for every CocoLove Doodles family.
Because our puppies are raised in a boutique program with a strong focus on temperament, health, and early socialization, we follow a structured puppy selection process that allows families to make confident and informed decisions.
Below is a step-by-step guide so you know exactly what to expect.
Families interested in a puppy begin by submitting an application.
Once approved, a $200 waitlist deposit secures your spot on our Master Waitlist for the litter.
This deposit goes toward the total purchase price of your puppy.
Being on the Master List ensures:
Step 2: Joining the Master List
After your deposit is received, you are officially added to the CocoLove Doodles Master List.
This list determines the general order of selection for families who are still deciding between puppies.
However, if you immediately fall in love with a puppy and feel confident in your choice, you are welcome to reserve that puppy right away.
We believe some connections are instant — and we honor that.
During the first few weeks, puppies change quickly as they open their eyes, begin walking, and start exploring their environment.
During this time we focus on:
Early neurological stimulation
Gentle handling and bonding
Daily health monitoring
Beginning early socialization
Families will receive updates, photos, and videos so you can watch the puppies grow.
At around 4–5 weeks of age, personalities begin to emerge more clearly.
For families who have not already chosen their puppy, formal puppy selection begins.
Selections are offered in the order deposits were received.
At this stage we can provide insight into:
Temperament
Energy level
Confidence
Coat type
General personality traits
This helps families find a puppy that fits their lifestyle.
Step 5: Matching the Right Puppy to the Right Home
Our goal is not just to place puppies — it’s to create lasting matches.
We help guide families based on:
Home environment
Children or other pets
Desired energy level
Companion vs. more active lifestyle
Many families have a favorite puppy right away, while others appreciate guidance. Both are completely normal.
Once puppies are selected, families begin preparing for go-home day at 9 weeks.
During this time we continue:
Socialization
Basic foundations
Exposure to new experiences
Families will receive preparation guidance so your puppy transitions smoothly into your home.
Our Philosophy
At CocoLove Doodles, we believe every puppy deserves the right home, and every family deserves a puppy that fits their life.
Our puppy selection process is designed to be:
Fair
Thoughtful
Personal
Most importantly, it allows the connection between puppy and family to happen naturally.
Final Thoughts
Whether you fall in love with a puppy immediately or wait to see personalities develop, we are here to guide you every step of the way.
Bringing home a CocoLove Doodles puppy is more than a purchase — it’s the beginning of a lifelong relationship.
Why Choosing a Boutique Breeder Matters When Getting Your Goldendoodle Puppy

Breeds, Breeder, Care, Puppies, Tips
A boutique breeder is a small-scale, highly focused breeding program that prioritizes every puppy’s health, temperament, and well-being. Unlike mass breeders, boutique breeders like CocoLove Doodles raise puppies in-home, offering early socialization, health testing, and tailored care.
Healthier Puppies: Boutique breeders often perform advanced health testing on parent dogs, reducing the risk of inherited conditions.
Personalized Socialization: Puppies grow up in a home environment and are exposed to family life, sounds, and experiences that help them adjust smoothly to yours.
Stronger Breeder Support: Reputable breeders guide you through the process, offering lifetime support and expertise long after your puppy goes home.
Ethical Breeding Practices: Boutique breeders follow responsible breeding guidelines and prioritize the well-being of both puppies and parent dogs.
Look for breeders who conduct health screenings and temperament testing.
Ask to visit or see where puppies are raised (clean, home-based environments are key).
Read reviews and ask for client testimonials.
Ensure the breeder offers clear contracts, health guarantees, and is transparent about their practices.
At CocoLove Doodles, we are proud to be a trusted boutique Goldendoodle breeder in Arizona. We focus on early training, health, and creating well-rounded puppies ready to become loving members of your family.

My Journey to Becoming a Boutique Goldendoodle Breeder

Breeding dogs has been part of my life since childhood. Born and raised in Michigan, I grew up surrounded by animals and spent much of my early years helping my family raise Pomeranians, Pomapoo (Pomeranian-Poodle) mixes, and Cocker Spaniels. Even as a child in elementary school, I was deeply involved in the care, socialization, and joy of welcoming new litters into the world.
Eventually, I relocated to Arizona, which I now proudly call home. My passion for dogs never left me, and after moving, I began working closely with reputable breeders in Arizona. It was during this time that I gained hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of ethical breeding practices.
In 2023, my dream came full circle when I raised my first litter of Goldendoodles with my beloved dog, Coco—the heart and inspiration behind CocoLove Doodles. From that first litter, I knew I wanted to create a boutique breeding program focused on health, temperament, and early training to provide families with exceptional puppies.
Today, CocoLove Doodles is more than a breeding program—it’s a reflection of my lifelong commitment to raising well-loved and well-prepared Goldendoodle puppies.

Why Puppy Enrichment Matters: Key to Confident, Healthy Puppies
Discover how early enrichment shapes your puppy’s brain, behavior, and confidence. Learn the science behind enrichment from CocoLove Doodles.
Puppy enrichment means creating safe, stimulating experiences that help a puppy’s brain and body develop during their most impressionable stages. This includes:
These early exposures help puppies build resilience, curiosity, and trust in the world around them.
Enrichment isn’t just cute—it’s scientifically proven to enhance your puppy’s development.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a method introduced by the U.S. military’s Bio Sensor program, involves brief, controlled stressors from days 3 to 16 of life. This process resulted in:
Puppies’ brains are most “plastic” (changeable) between 3 and 12 weeks. According to the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior:
“The first three months of life are the most important period for puppy development… Puppies should be exposed to as many new people, animals, stimuli, and environments as can be achieved safely.”
At CocoLove Doodles, enrichment is built into every day of our program. We want our puppies to leave not just healthy but also confident, curious, and emotionally stable.
Our enrichment routine includes:
By the time our puppies go home, they’ve already begun learning how to navigate the world calmly and curiously. That’s what sets CocoLove puppies apart.
When families bring home a puppy raised with enrichment, they’re starting with a strong foundation. These puppies:
Enrichment isn’t just a box to check—it’s a lifelong impact. At CocoLove Doodles, we believe your puppy deserves the best possible start, and that begins with how we nurture their brains and hearts during their most impressionable stages.
Our puppies are thoughtfully raised in an enriched, loving environment from day one. Join our waitlist or contact us to learn more about upcoming litters and our program.
